ThemembersoftheinterimGoverningCouncilinclude;BevBradwell,JohnReeves,BernadetteParkhurst,AmandaBarker,WendyFry,LeanneDyer,JoBrown,ChrisO'Dea,PaulWhittenbury,GregBowden,TaniaGuestandTanyaDiLernia.Atournextmeeting,wewillbeconsideringarangeofissuesrelatedtotheclosingofourschoolsandreopeningnextyearasReynellaEastCollege,includingourschoolcolours,logo,anduniform.Wearealsoverykeentobeginanumberofcommitteesandsupportgroups,suchasaschoolSportcommitteeandtocontinueourParentandFriendscommittee.PleasecontactanymembersoftheGoverningCouncilifyouhaveanythoughtsorideasaboutthesematters.
WewouldcertainlybekeentohearofanyonewhowouldliketoassisttheCouncilinanyofthecommitteesthatitestablishes.Inthemeantime,planningcontinuesforourmajorrebuildingprogram,withweeklymeetingswiththearchitectslookingateveryaspectofthenewbuildingsandrefurbishedolderbuildings.Whilesomepreparatoryworkhasbegun,themajorconstructionisnotscheduledtostartuntilthemiddleofnextyear.Ournewclassroomswillnotbecompleteduntilthemiddleof2012.Allofthi*eansthatwewillcontinuetooperatefairlymuchasweareforatleastthenextcoupleofyears,inthattheCPC-Year7sectionoftheschoolwillcontinuetooccupytheexistingprimaryschoolsiteandhavelessonbreaksatdifferenttimestotheYear8-12sectionoftheschool.
ManyoftheservicesthatthePrimarychildrenaccesswillstillbelocatedinthesamebuildingsuntilthecompletionoftheBuildingProgram.OnlythenwilltheYear7'*oveinto,whatisnow,the8-12sectionoftheschool.Inthemeantime,wewillbeconsideringallaspectsofthewaythatourschooloperatestoensurethatstudentsreceivethebestpossibleconditionsinwhichtolearn.OneexampleistheLearningCommunitystructureoftheMiddleSchool.Thereareopportunitiestoextendthe3MiddleschoolcommunitiesintotheSeniorSchoolandalsointothePrimarysectionoftheschool,butdoesthisthenmakethemtoobigtooperateeffectively?AnotherissuethatwewillbelookingatistheInternationalBaccalaureateProgram.
